The more receptive to change you are the easier it will be to come up with a new habit. If you are struggling to think of a new habit to form then think about the habit you are discarding. Your new habit maybe the counterbalance of that.


The habit I want to change is ‘Going Off on Tangents (or as pointed out to me recently ‘Avoidance Techniques’..!) and so for me, my new habit is to ‘Be Focused on What is Important’

What do you want to use as a replacement for your habit that you have chosen to change..?

Now you have your replacement habit it is now time to make it stick.

Making a habit stick takes time.

21 consecutive days is an average duration to embed a habit.

Repetition is KEY.

Write about it, tell others about it, plaster ‘post it’ notes around the place, chant it as an affirmation and don’t beat yourself up when you forget to do it,(That’s as much for my benefit as yours..!) just pick up where you left off and carry on, Enjoy it.


I mentioned about not beating yourself up, which is a very common thing that we all do at some stage when we feel we may have failed, let the side down or not achieved what we feel we should….!

We don’t want to admit to any weakness in our make up. Ring any Bells…?

Many people see vulnerability as a weakness, society has taught us we need to have a stiff upper lip. We have learnt to put up an outward facade to show that we are in control of our life.
